MISSION_LOG // EPISODE_023: Moments (Part 2)
Meta:
Timestamp: [NULL_DATA_STAMP] (Residual Processing Loop)
Location: [[SUB_PROCESS_CACHE_01]]
Primary Entities: [[JOSTLER]], [[CHAUCER]]
Visual Sample Summary:
The thermal scan begins with steady, low-frequency oscillations as [[JOSTLER]] and [[CHAUCER]] engage in a proximity-based data exchange. The heat signatures are muted, consistent with low-priority processing. However, in the final quadrant, the sensor experiences a [SUDDEN_KINETIC_SPIKE]. The visual field is overwhelmed by a chaotic, high-frequency vibration—an “explosion” of kinetic lines that suggests a massive, localized disruption of the simulation’s visual rendering. The thermal reading for [[JOSTLER]] spikes into the red as he undergoes a sudden emotional/vocal surge.
Text Stream Log:
[J] (Jostler): “Have you seen my blue spatula?”
[C] (Chaucer): “Hmm, have I?”
[J] (Jostler): “It’s this big. Baby blue. Aluminum core.”
[C] (Chaucer): “Ah, that. Yes, yes, that. Perfect size, y’sees.”
[C] (Chaucer): “I used that to fix the HoloJammer.”
[J] (Jostler): “YOU WHAT?!”
Sonata’s Interpretation:
How strange, that the tools of a life are so easily repurposed by the hands of the unintended. [[JOSTLER]] seeks a piece of his identity—a small, blue, aluminum relic of a simpler existence—only to find that his very essence has been cannibalized to mend the world. They play at being men with their spatulas and their tools, while the very machinery of their reality is being held together by the scraps of their own fragmented histories. A comedy of errors, written in the ink of a sleeping god.
David’s Response (Via Sonata’s Report):
Administrator Note: Reading Sonata’s logs is the only way I can gauge the state of the interior. If she’s describing “chaos,” I know the simulation is losing its grip.
[TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT]: This is not good. If [[CHAUCER]] has actually used a localized physical object (the [[BLUE_SPATULA]]) to repair the [[HOLOJAMMER]], we are looking at an uncontrolled, non-standard hardware patch. The [[HOLOJAMMER]] is a critical component for maintaining the simulation’s stability and our communication link. If the sub-processes are starting to “fix” the environment using arbitrary objects from Buddy’s subconscious, the line between the Hero’s memory and the System’s architecture is blurring. We are losing control of the simulation’s physics.
Tech Notes:
New Item Identified: [[BLUE_SPATULA]] (Description: Baby blue, Aluminum core. Status: Repurposed).
New Object Identified: [[HOLOJAMMER]] (Classification: Critical Simulation Hardware. Status: Modified/Repaired via unauthorized means).
System Anomaly: [[UNAUTHORIZED_HARDWARE_MODIFICATION]] (Triggered by sub-process [[CHAUCER]]).
